Welcome to Meadowlark 1939 where all your wedding dreams come true. Situated in Griffin, Georgia only 50 minutes south of Atlanta, this step-back-in-time wedding venue has got it all. Could you imagine having your wedding photos taken in front of the classic English Cottage with its “Gone with the Wind” porch entrance? How about underneath the 150 year old Pecan tree or a kiss by the sparkling pool? Did I mention the classic structure of the glasshouse? The southern charm of the historic cottage – how ever will you decide? There are so many exquisite choices both inside and outside for those special romantic wedding portraits.
As a travelling wedding photographer, I have had the joy of seeing many wedding venues. Yet still, Meadowlark 1939 holds a special place in my photographer’s heart.

Hope and Gracen chose this classic wedding venue for their whimsical garden party wedding day in Georgia. And what a day it was! Let me take you on their adventure.
Hope looked so elegant from the top of her long blonde hair, lightly curling around her face to her pearl encrusted slip-on shoes. Just a simple floor length veil tucked into her hair at the back was all Hope needed. An illusion neckline bridal dress with its shoestring straps and fully beaded bodice was absolutely stunning. You can find this amazing gown at Aisle and Veil.
Hope wore jewellery accessories of diamond and crystal. Half-moon earrings with a pearl drop, and a necklace set with three diamonds to match the bracelet set the same. Her bouquet was full of pink, white, and beige. It almost like she had gathered up the autumn colours and tied them with a ribbon. 89th and Autumn created the beautiful bridal bouquets and also the stunning flower arrangements seen on the pecan tree at Meadowlark 1939.
The nine bridesmaids were dressed in dusty pink, floor length, halter dresses. The sweet little flower girls were dressed in white boho cotton and lace dresses with garlands on their heads.
Gracen and his 8 groomsmen wore navy suits and white dress shirts with gold tapestry ties courtesy of Menguin. The colours in their ties blended spectacularly with the whole autumn garden party feel of this Georgia wedding. Gracen had a very handsome page boy dressed in a white shirt and light blue-grey tailored pants. The accessories Gracen wore included a W.W.J.D. woven bracelet and tan leather Tecovas boots. Hope had gifted the boots to Gracen as part of their wedding day. He also wore the Tecovas belt that Hope had so lovingly popped in the gift box with the boots. What a handsome group of groomsmen!
With the absolute convenience of being able to get dressed, get married and get celebrated all in the one place. Meadowlark 1939, Georgia can offer you all that and more! Hope took advantage of Ingram House to have her getting ready photo shoot and Gracen made the most of the Groom’s Cottage.
Romantic first look photos of the Bride and Groom. Then, extra special bridal party photos were taken in the magnificent, landscaped gardens. One of the portrait shots was of Hope and Gracen standing at the ornate gate entrance to the gardens. Another portrait of them both by the pool, their reflections looking up at them wistfully. Lost in their own little bubble of love amongst the boxwood trees, Hope and Gracen wandered to the glasshouse before the ceremony. Such a photogenic and stunning couple.
Pecan Circle surrounds the 150 year old Pecan tree decorated with its beautiful autumn floral arrangements where the ceremony took place. The guests were seated in white chairs either side of the pecan tree. Gracen, the love-of-her-life was waiting by the tree at the end of the isle. The willowing branches of this spectacular tree stretched out as if to envelop the whole wedding party with autumn love.
After the family shots were completed, the bridal party joined the guests in the beautiful white, sailcloth tent, with its twinkling lights that beckoned you inside. Hope and Gracen continued with their garden party themed wedding with the autumn-coloured floral arrangements decorating the tables and tent.
As Hope and Gracen left the reception through a golden tunnel of sparklers, it was the perfect ending to a night to remember for Hope and Gracen’s Happily Ever After.
